OUR ADOPTION JOURNEY

ANDREW: "Elizabeth has wanted to adopt ever since she learned about the process early in her life. She was so passionate about her plan, she shared her intentions with me within our first few dates ten years ago. This caused me absolutely zero concern or reservation, and I share in Elizabeth's excitement today. Together, we view adoption not as a process, but a privilege. We will feel so honored and grateful toward the parent(s) who choose us to fulfill their adoption plan."

OUR STORY

ELIZABETH: "Andrew has been making me laugh since well before we actually met in person. He was the editor of our college newspaper and his hilarious and witty articles had the attention of my friends and I week after week. He claims he first took notice of me when my photo appeared on the front page shortly after I began my freshman year. It would be a couple years before our paths would officially cross and I was pleasantly surprised that he was not only funny, but hardworking, smart, and so very kind. He has treated me like a queen and has been making me laugh ever since."

ANDREW: "We have been married since October 2012, and each moment since has been a blessing. It also has been very easy! Our relationship is built on mutual respect, genuine admiration and open communication. The biggest strength of our marriage, however, is the fact we are best friends. We enjoy doing everything together, including going to sporting events, trying new foods and restaurants, traveling, tackling home projects, walking our dog and staying in to watch our favorite television shows. We absolutely love living in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area, and can't foresee moving (until we're grey and old and can no longer stand the winters.)"

ELIZABETH IN ANDREW'S WORDS

ANDREW: "Elizabeth has a very sweet, easy-going personality. It's rare when she isn't smiling or laughing. She also has a great sense of humor. I really admire her ability to stay very calm and collected when she's under a lot of pressure or stress, which will serve her well as a parent. She also is very compassionate, knowing exactly when to speak and when to listen in order to make another person feel better."

ANDREW IN ELIZABETH'S WORDS

ELIZABETH: "Andrew is genuine, smart, witty and a natural caretaker. He also loves a good challenge. (Again, he's run two marathons and cheers for Minnesota pro sports teams!) I cannot wait to join him in supporting our child's hobbies and interests, no matter what they are. His fun-loving, creative take on life will make him the best father. When explaining who he is, I feel it is important to note I have not done the dishes since 2007."
